This
film was initially created for, and screened at, various memorial
services, which were held in honor of the beloved actor and female
impersonator shortly after his untimely passing on August 24th, 2004.
PAUL WEGMAN: A Tribute
contains a collage of still photographs from every phase of Paul’s life
and career as well as seldom seen Video clips of, not only his
appearances on stage as Miss P, but also from many of his critically
acclaimed legitimate theatrical performances at virtually ever theater
in town, including, but not limited to, The Orlando Shakespeare
Festival, The Footlight Theater, The Ice House Theater, VCC, SCC, and
Theater Downtown. Additionally the film features Wanzie conducted
interviews with such notables as Jeff Horn, David Lee, Jim
Helsinger, Darcel Stevens, Joe Swanberg, Becky Fisher, Chris Robison,
Sam Singhaus, Chantel Rachae, Chris Guy, Margaret Nolan, Scottie
Campbell, Pam Baumann, Miriam P. Saunders, DOUG, Mary Higgins, Beth
Marshall, Bobbie Bell, Brianna Lee, Judy Milam, Catherine Goodisson,

PAUL WEGMAN: A Tribute
was made in cooperation with Paul’s brother David Wegman, who provided
many photos and mementos from Paul’s youth, which have never been seen
by the general public accept as they appear in this film.
Directed and Edited by Jason Piecarskie and Michael Wanzie of Lantern
Light Studios, PUAL WEGMAN A Tribute won the award for Best Documentary
Short at the Fire Island Film Festival - a division of the prestigious
Long Island Film Festival - and was the main fundraising tool utilized
in establishing The Paul Wegman Memorial Acting Scholarships for gay
& lesbian theater majors at both Seminole Community College and
Valencia Community College.
It is clear that Paul Wegman was concerned for the GLBT youth of
Central Florida, and Paul lent his name and his talents to the biggest,
most successful fundraisers GLBCC – The Center ever held; GayEscape
Cruises - “P” on The Sea!
We at the WANZeGRAM feel certain Paul would be thrilled that his
performances are still generating interest and much needed funds to
benefit these two organizations behind which he would surely be putting
his full support were he still among us.
Come out and see the film in “The House that “P”
Built” – The Parliament House, while at the same time, aiding in the
build-out of a safe haven youth meeting space at The Center.

Orlando’s
claim to having some of the nation’s most popular theme parks will
surely remain intact with the impending visit of rising star LESLIE
JORDAN when he brings his own version of an amusement joy ride to the
Footlight Theater @ The Parliament House on Tuesday, July 8 at 8:00
P.M. for one night only. But let’s be perfectly clear on one
thing ... there’s won’t be any kiddie attractions at this ferris wheel
of fun. In fact, in all fairness, this show has to be declared
off limits for those with less than 21 years of life experience under
their belts. Jordan’s new stage production “MY TRIP DOWN THE PINK
CARPET” certainly has a magical journey tone to it’s title, but it’s
content is a far cry from any Disney-esque renderings.
The diminutive dynamo and acclaimed Emmy award winning television star
(Will & Grace), having conquered multitudes of performance mediums
on the strength of his own unique character and convictions, is in the
midst of a banner year of exciting, new career
achievements. His sassy, one-of-a-kind Southern branded
humor and innate storytelling abilities has brought Jordan legions of
fans through his memorable performances on stage, television and
film. Unapologetically and to a great extent, lovingly, Jordan
gives his Southern heritage and how it provided the basis for his adult
values, its rightful due.
Directed by Hollywood stage veteran DAVID GALLIGAN and produced by Los
Angeles, CA based REACTION PRODUCTIONS, Jordan’s near 30 year
performing resume’ is filled with indelible appearances on numerous
television shows both as a series regular and guest star. Best
known on the small tube for his portrayal of the irascible nemesis to
Karen Walker, Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace, he has registered
memorable guest stints on such well known series as Boston Legal, Ugly
Betty, Reba and Murphy Brown. Equal acclaim has come from
Jordan’s hilarious yet poignant and humane portrayals on stage and
film. His most enduring turn as Brother Boy in the hit cult film
classic Sordid Lives as well as his one-man autobiographical stage
renderings “Like a Dog on Linoleum” and Hysterical Blindness and other
Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far” have hailed
Jordan with well deserved accolades for his unique voice and talent.
Jordan’s new stage work is based upon his most recent creative
endeavors; this time as a published author. Having taken
feathered plume to hand to commit to pages (and the Ages) his first
book, which bears the same title as the current stage show. Both
are an autobiographical compilation of witticisms and wisdoms he has
collected along his often turbulent yet touching life course. The
“trip” is saturated with star encounters as well; show biz legends
CLORIS LEACHMAN and FAYE DUNAWAY along with co-stars RUE McCLANAHAN,
BOY GEORGE, PAUL HOGAN, MARK HARMON, BEVERLY D’ANGELO and current
screen legend GEORGE CLOONEY make his written journey a true “cause
celebre” and are mixed in with his encounters with a colorful
assortment of family, friends and bands of “Gypsies, Tramps and
Thieves” all of whom Jordan is more than willing to “Cher”.
The show was recently hailed in New York as a ‘tour de force”.
Published by Simon & Schuster, Inc., the narrative voice is
unmistakable, vintage Jordan, doing what he does best; traipsing his
way down the path he was destined to take, with no apologies and fewer
regrets. In the process, Jordan hits more than a few potholes
along the way while rendering a life experience filled with raucous
humor, wild abandon, trials and tribulations and anecdotal tidbits that
are often painfully honest but forthrightly shared with the integrity
only a man of his spiritually awakened sense and resolve could possess.
Jordan’s show is in the middle of a 28 city run throughout North
America. “My Trip Down the Pink Carpet” will continue through
summer and will culminate with an early August run in Provincetown, MA
. Other play dates for the show, accompanying book signings and
special appearances will include West Coast urban centers, the
Heartland, the Deep South and beyond to the capitols of neighboring
Canada.
REACTION MARKETING & PROMOTIONS, INC. is the marketing and
producing partner for Jordan’s latest ventures. REACTION
President DAVE MORGAN is serving as Executive in Charge of Production
on all aspects of the touring show, book promotions and merchandising
in association with Jordan and his management team as well as his
publishers at SIMON & SCHUSTER, INC.
Tickets for the Orlando engagement at the Parliament House’s Footlight
Theatre, located at 410 N. Orange Blossom Trail, are available by
visiting www.wanzie.com/boxoffice. Specific information on the
show’s tour schedule can be found by visiting Jordan’s website at
www.thelesliejordan.com.

Just
in time for dinner, the 2008 multi-sell-out Fringe hit comes to The
Parliament House by popular demand!
It’s Donna Reed meets Medea as Janine Klein (Monorail Inferno, My Pal Bette) stars in John Ryan’s (My Pal Bette) hilariously campy
look at the sinister side of TVLAND’s happiest sitcom family. Also
featuring Tim Debaun (Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory) as the father who should know best but is a
little too preoccupied with a certain sassy waitress, Brittany Berkowitz* (The Little
Dog Laughed) as the delightful daughter who’s a little too
popular with the boys, and John Ryan as the all-American son with a
strange fascination with Rock Hudson. Will matriarch Vicki (Klein) be
able to keep everyone smiling? Will daddy accept his children’s
indiscretions? Or will they all just end up dead? Find out at the
Orlando Fringe’s Brown Venue this May. Don’t forget to wash your hands
first!
